Metoidioplasty – Photos of Metoidioplasty Results

IMPORTANT NOTE: You must be 18 years and older to view this page.

Metoidioplasty

The photos below show patients after metoidioplasty performed by Dr. Crane. Most patients desire a full metoidioplasty which includes vaginectomy, scrotoplasty, and urethral lengthening to the tip of the phallus. Others desire variations of metoidioplasty which may or may not include vaginectomy, scrotoplasty, or urethral lengthening. For patients interested in metoidioplasty who strongly desire standing to urinate, factors that improve success rates include good phallus growth on T, ample labia minora tissue (used for urethral lengthening and phallus skin coverage), and a favorable body habitus (near ideal body weight).

Patient H is 11 months postop metoidioplasty. Patient J opted not to have testicular implants.

Patient K 12 mo postop meta

Patient I is 12 months postop

Patient I 14 mo postop meta, 8 months postop testicular implants

Patient J is 14 months postop metoidioplasty and 8 months postop testicular implants. Some variations in anatomy can lead to skin folds lateral to the phallus.

Patient Z preop scrotum

This patient had a meta by another surgeon who placed his implants directly under the skin between the legs. This made sitting uncomfortable and the patient could not ride a bike. He requested a formal scrotoplasty.

Patient Z postop scrotum

Dr. Crane demonstrates the patient’s new hanging scrotum that is in the anterior male anatomic position. After 6 months of healing, he will place testicular implants.
